The eighth Azrieli shopping mall will open in the beginning of 2008. It will open after two years of work and at a cost of about 110 million dollars invested in this project. This new mall covers a large area of 22 thousand square feet. There will be 1700 parking places and is located in the center of Modiin next to the new train station. The commercial areas have all been rented out at a cost of between 60 - 80 US dollars per square meter. The mall will hold more than 130 businesses and will have a huge fast food hall 1500 square meters large. I understand that there will be many famous shops including  Zara, Golf & Co., Office Depot, super pharm, Cafe Joe, Cafe Hillel, Roladin, Cafe Aroma, Honigman and Castro. It will also have a cinema. I believe this will be a terrific asset to Modiin, it will create hundreds  of new jobs directly and indirectly and will offer a tremendous boost to the development of Modiin. Real estate prices are expected to rise and those that buy properties in Modiin before the mall opens will surely reap their rewards. So early 2008 should see the train arriving  at  the center of Modiin and the opening of the Azrieli shopping mall. The residents of Modiin have a lot to look forward to in the coming year.
