Connex Modiin

This has been a very difficult week for Modiin. It is surprising that a city that has so much going for it in terms of transportation has made such a mess of its new bus system. Modiin boasts of its location, it is in close proximity to Ben Gurion airport, half way between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, close to road 6 and the 431 highway starting from Yizhak Rabin Boulevard will eventually reach Rishon Le Zion. So how can a municipality and its leaders allow a new bus company to begin its tenure without being completetely ready and properly prepared? There are no excuses for a bus company to cause so much chaos to so many people in such a small period of time. Who is to blame? I am sure that its usual in Israel, that each person responsible will blame somebody else. Connex the new bus company was mentioned in such a positive context all through the summer, until their disastrous opening day. Now the word Connex when spoken seems to bring out rage, panic and anger in people that I never believed could ever lose their cool. Many are blaming the municipality for not doing their job properly and taking care of such a vital part of a towns needs. I hope that those responsible will make sure that the mess and mayhem that they have caused to the Modiin transport system will be corrected immediately or I would expect that very soon  angry protesters in their thousands will probably demonstrate. I have not heard one positive word from anybody about this new bus service. Modiin is arguably the most desired small town in Israel: it is blessed with a wonderful mixture of people from communities from all over Israel and the world. I am sure that within a short time the bus system will sort itself out and the town will calm down and return to its normal special demeanor, but these kind of irresponsible mishaps must never happen again. It is because of my love for this city that I write these words today, I live in this town and my plans are to continue to live here because of the character and beauty that Modiin offers, and the exciting future of this town keeps me awake on many nights dreaming  of what an amazing and incredible city Modiin will be. What a shame that on Modiin's exciting and adventurous journey, that it has to suffer the wrath of such incompetent and irresponsible people who do not seem to care so much about its inhabitants, or/and are not proficient enough to look after our special city.
Lets hope that this week, there will be a major improvement to Connex's service. I will certainly be quick in writing about the improvements in my blog when they hopefully happen.

New neighbourhoods in Modiin are far from the train stations, no way to get by "walking under the rain" nor under the heavy sunshine at noon time.
Public local transportation in Modiin, was and still is, so terrible now with Connex that even if we pay for it or free of charge we need to wait hours till we see a bus, hours of work and joy wasted after waiting for an hour or more at Kaizer bus "signs" in the neighbourhood where not even bus stations were built to protect the travellers from weather conditions.
Route changes in the bus'line made the 10-20 minutes of the bus ride to Modiin Center to an hour or 65 minutes ride plus walking! No way now for school-children to reach their school "Ironi Alef" by bus anymore!
Not the Ministry of Transportation nor Modiin Municipality nor Connex do answer their own consumers and tax-payers demands for a sustainable development transportation friendly to the people needs! 23 Kaizer residents included in this complain, Fanny
